Personally, I'm a bit disappointed.
When I first saw this trailer, my first reaction was "Finally! Disney's returning to it's roots and doing beautiful traditional animation!" Then all of the sudden it becomes a live action movie (and we all know that live action Disney movies these days are rather pathetic... pretty much the only exception is Pirates of the Caribbean.)

Yet at the same time I'm curious & don't want too be judgemental. Perhaps this is more of a tribute than a mockery towards classic Disney cartoons.

What do you guys think?

BTW, Disney IS working on a new 2-D film. It's gonna be the Frog Prince

I had the same reaction the first time I saw the teaser. What really disappointed me was the obligatory squirrel (god, I hate them) which indicated to me that this would probably be just another mediocre grab for money. Nevertheless I still really like the idea and I'm going to see it.

Yeah, it seems like they sort of wanted to return to 2D, but chickened out at the last second, and found a concept to make it 2D but not 2D.

...

2D or not 2D? That is the question.

It reminds me of Cool World, actually. In any case, I'll definitely check it out one way or another.
